Feb
Tushita staff and volunteers gathered together in early February to prepare the centre for re-opening – in a climate that reminded us why we have an annual Winter Break!
As we braved the cold by running around getting ready, on the 15th of February there was a storm that dropped 6 inches of snow on us in 3 hours! The first Introduction to Buddhism course of 2014 began a couple of days later and we weren’t sure if anyone would turn up since we had sent everyone a strong warning about the cold (and the fact that we don’t have a heating system), and because the only motorable road from McLeod Ganj was still blocked, meaning that every single person would have to climb up the very steep hill with their luggage.
But our students proved to be keen and hardy and despite the harsh conditions, 45 intrepid people made the trek and were rewarded by wonderful teachings by Venerable Legtsok.
Photos of this February 17 – 26 2014 course can be seen on our Facebook page here.

About Tushita
Tushita is a centre for the study and practice of Buddhism from the Tibetan Mahayana tradition. We're located in Northern India, in the forested hills above the town of McLeod Ganj, Dharamsala - the seat in exile of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama.
Tushita aims to provide a friendly and conducive environment for people of all nationalities and backgrounds to learn about and put into practice the teachings of the Buddha. With this in mind we offer regular drop-in events and courses on introductory Buddhist philosophy and meditation, as well as intermediate level courses and group retreats for more experienced students.
