Ultimate Healing with Wisdom and Compassion
May 5 – 13, 2015
Led by Venerable Lobsang Namgyel
This retreat is the perfect opportunity to spend time reflecting on your life, on any problems you might experience with health and happiness, in a caring and accepting environment, with a retreat leader who is familiar with human suffering in its many forms.
The retreat schedule will include teachings on the graduated path to enlightenment. The main part of the retreat consists of Medicine Buddha sadhana practice and related teachings, meditations and mantra recitation sessions.
Requirements to join the Retreat
This group tantric retreat is most suitable for those who are Buddhist (having formally taken Refuge in the Buddha, Dharma and Sangha), have taken the Bodhisattva Vows and have received the Medicine Buddha Initiation. The specific retreat requirements change every year according to the retreat structure.
This year’s Medicine Buddha Retreat is also suitable for those who might not be ready yet to make these commitments usually involved with a tantric retreat. The very basic requirements are:
- You must be familiar with the Lam Rim (the Graduated Path to Enlightenment) and have attended at least one introductory course in Tibetan Buddhism (at Tushita, Kopan, Root Institute or an equivalent Lam Rim course).
- know about the Medicine Buddha practice and have a deep wish and/or commitment to doing this practice, which includes Guru Yoga and many prayers and practices (as described above)
For more information about this retreat, including rules of discipline and how to register, please see our Medicine Buddha Retreat page.
