April 29 – May 7, 2018
Led by Venerable Lobsang Namgyel.
This intermediate level course, led by Venerable Lobsang Namgyel, will cover aspects of how to live a meaningful and peaceful life leading to a peaceful death. Ven. Namgyel is a senior Western monk, with an array of life experiences and a unique, friendly and humorous style which makes students feel comfortable from the start.
Tibetan Buddhism offers an array of points of view and ways to make the most of this very precious life. As this philosophy, using logic and reasoning, it incorporates belief in the law of cause and effect and reincarnation, so preparing for a peaceful death that will propel one toward a good rebirth is of utmost importance.
As Ven. Namgyel says: “Living in a right way to die in a right way. To develop good mental habits to control the mind at the time of death…” An explanation of the death process with its eight stages of dissolution will also be given.
This is an intermediate course for those who have already attended an introductory course and would like to deepen their knowledge. The course will include meditation, Buddhist philosophy classes and group discussions. The teachings are presented from an experiential point of view.
