Losar-la Tashi Delek! Happy Tibetan New Year! The Year of the Wood Horse began on March 2nd 2014.
Tushita’s Tibetan staff celebrated with their annual capse (Tibetan breadsticks) event, making, sharing, and offering gift plates to everyone here, and to HH the Dalai Lama, whose throne is set up on the Dining Room to symbolically share some time with us (pictured below).
We marked the following 2 weeks of the year – known as the “Days of Miracles” – with a group recital of “The Sutra of Golden Light” every day at 1pm, March 2 – 16.
Our annual prayer flag puja and tsampa throw took place on the cold, rainy morning of March 4th (pictured above). We gathered together to mark the New Year, putting up fresh prayer flags in preparation for the rest of the season, and making prayers for both the success of Tushita and the long life of Lama Zopa Rinpoche. Emaho!

Tushita aims to provide a friendly and conducive environment for people of all nationalities and backgrounds to learn about and put into practice the teachings of the Buddha. With this in mind we offer regular drop-in events and courses on introductory Buddhist philosophy and meditation, as well as intermediate level courses and group retreats for more experienced students.
