We are seeking a Resident Teacher who will mainly teach courses and lead retreats at Tushita ten months per year (February-November), starting in March 2023 for ideally 2 years or longer.
Join us during our 50th anniversary celebrations with many special events!
This is a unique opportunity to live and work in a very blessed environment while benefiting many sentient beings! If teaching is your dedication Tushita with our many Indian and international students is the right place to make a difference. We just celebrated our 108th student nationality!

Tushita is a thriving Dharma center beautifully located in the forested hills above McLeod Ganj, India – the seat in exile of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and many accomplished practitioners. Tushita has a very unique spiritual heritage, with Ling Rinpoche, Trijang Rinpoche, Lama Yeshe, Lama Zopa Rinpoche and many other great lamas having lived and taught and teaching here.
The present Ling Rinpoche said that Tushita is very precious: "It has become like a pilgrimage place with all the gurus and great lamas. When you go there, there’s a special feeling, in Lama’s room and in the whole area. So it should be preserved."
Along with Kopan Monastery, Tushita Meditation Centre provides a great service to FPMT centers around the world, as many of the students who attend Tushita's courses go on to study and offer service at their local FPMT center after they leave India.

From our outgoing Resident Teacher Venerable Drolma (RT Aug 2016 – Aug 2022)
“When I was a resident teacher at Tushita it was an incredible experience. Being in India and near the Dalai Lama’s home and temple with so many Tibetan Buddhists around was inspiring and enjoyable.
At Tushita itself, there is so much enthusiasm and constant engagement by students. The group retreat setting that Tushita provides is a great setting for teaching. The students have profound experiences and I got to be a part of that.
Also, the staff are supportive and responsive. I was looked after so carefully and with much kindness. It was a great experience, and I would recommend it to anyone wanting to grow in their teaching skills. My teacher visited Tushita and was impressed with the numbers of students who came to Tushita. He wanted me to stay there and teach as long as I could.”
