Fundamental Wisdom of the Middle Way

November 11 & 12, 2017

This course will be led by Glen Svensson.

Suitable for beginners & intermediate students alike.

Registration is needed for this short, non-residential course!

Fundamental Wisdom of the Middle Way

As said by Arya Nagarjuna:

That which arises dependently and relatedly
Is explained as being empty.
And that which is empty is dependently designated.
This is the middle way path.

During this two day course we will explore this middle way path as defined and set out by Nagarjuna in his classic text The Fundamental Wisdom of the Middle Way (Mulamadhyamakakarika). We will first look at how our current distorted view of reality is the underlying source of our mental afflictions and suffering. Then we will explore how to establish the correct view of reality through gaining an understanding of emptiness. And finally learn how to meditate on emptiness and thereby how to follow this middle way path to liberation avoiding the extremes of existence and non-existence.

About Tushita

Tushita is a centre for the study and practice of Buddhism from the Tibetan Mahayana tradition. We're located in Northern India, in the forested hills above the town of McLeod Ganj, Dharamsala - the seat in exile of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama.

Tushita aims to provide a friendly and conducive environment for people of all nationalities and backgrounds to learn about and put into practice the teachings of the Buddha. With this in mind we offer regular drop-in events and courses on introductory Buddhist philosophy and meditation, as well as intermediate level courses and group retreats for more experienced students.
