Intermediate Course Led by Venerable Jamyang.
The way we try to find happiness and success brings us often to a place where the mind is restless, unhappy, and dissatisfied. Due to this we might come to the conclusion that something is wrong with us, that we are a failure, that we don’t deserve to be happy or successful, or even that we are not loveable.
We don’t know how to become happy because we are ignorant about the nature of reality. We are holding onto things that don’t exist and deny or don’t know things that do exist. Due to this, our reactions to our experiences are exaggerated and not align with reality. As a result of this, the actions that follow from our reactions don’t have the capacity to bring us what we set out for.
In this course we will explore the nature of the mind on both the conventional and ultimate level and what prevents us from living in accordance with our true nature. You will learn how the mind works based on Buddhist concepts, which include past and future lives and karma.
You will learn to take care of your mind with techniques based on (self)compassion. This will help you to bring your mind home to a place beyond hope and fear where you experience the natural peace of just being present. When the mind aligns with this natural balance, the body also relaxes. Patterns of attachment and aversion can be released, and you can reclaim the present moment with freedom, ease, and love.
