Geshe Lobsang Tsepal was born in Ladakh in 1967. At the age of 12 he took ordination and went to Ganden Monastery in South India, where he studied for over 14 years. Afterwards he came to Dharmsala to live in retreat in one of the small huts around Trijang Rinpoche’s stupa above TCV. He has spent the last 20 years there. During this time he has visited and researched the places where Shakyamuni Buddha used to go and teach, trying to recover an almost lost ancient culture.
