Review Sessions - July 2022

Review Sessions

of the Teachings of His Holiness the Dalai Lama

with Venerable Gache

July 8 – 10, 2022

4:00 – 6:00 pm (IST)

These sessions are suitable only for those who are taking the Highest Yoga Tantra Initiation given by His Holiness!

We are running these sessions as hybrid events – in-person and online – but only those who have received this Heruka Initiation may attend & access these resources.

  • Zoom Meeting Link
    Meeting ID: 898 8956 7812
    Passcode: 084764

His Holiness will confer the Heruka Initiation of the Luipa Tradition (dechok luipa wang) at the request of Gyudmey and Gyuto Tantric Colleges in Dharamsala at the Main Tibetan Temple (tsuglhakhang).

  • July 8 morning: Preliminary Initiation
  • July 9 morning: Actual Initiation
  • July 10 morning: long life prayer offered by Gyudmey and Gyuto Tantric Colleges.

Please note that people attending the initiation are required to do the daily practice of the Six-Session Guru Yoga which is compulsory for Highest Yoga Tantra empowerments. They also need to do the daily practice of the Luipa Chakrasamvara Sadhana (luipe dechok dakye) or at least the Triple Purification Practice (dakpa sum kyi nyeljor) of Chakrasamvara.

Tushita does NOT organize or host His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s Online Teachings (we wish!) For further information please see www.dalailama.com/live

During these sessions, which are meant to act as a review and supplement to His Holiness’ empowerment of Heruka Chakrasamvara, we will survey the vows and commitments that we have pledged to uphold as part of the empowerment.

  • The first day will focus on the Six-Session Guru Yoga, a common Geluk practice that is a daily commitment for all students who have received a highest yoga tantra empowerment.
  • The second day we will review the bodhisattva and tantric vows.
  • The third day will focus specifically on the practice of Heruka and how it fits into the overall structure of the path according to Lama Tsongkhapa’s system.

See Programs > Drop-In Sessions > Review Sessions for more information.

About Tushita

Tushita is a centre for the study and practice of Buddhism from the Tibetan Mahayana tradition. We're located in Northern India, in the forested hills above the town of McLeod Ganj, Dharamsala - the seat in exile of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama.

Tushita aims to provide a friendly and conducive environment for people of all nationalities and backgrounds to learn about and put into practice the teachings of the Buddha. With this in mind we offer regular drop-in events and courses on introductory Buddhist philosophy and meditation, as well as intermediate level courses and group retreats for more experienced students.
