Self-Compassion: Becoming Friends With Yourself

One-Week Live Online Program
June 22 – June 28; 5:00pm – 6:30pm (Indian Standard Time); No class on Thursday.

Led by Venerable Jamyang

When we are on the spiritual path with the intention to benefit other sentient beings, we are taught
that “Taking care of all sentient beings is the best way of taking care of yourself.” Within this concept,
how do take care of ourselves when we experience problems in relation to our body, our relationships,
our work, and our life?

When problems occur, we engage in negative self-talk, critical thinking, are judgmental, and especially
towards ourselves we can be very harsh. How can we be with ourselves in a loving and accepting
manner? How can we transform our inner voice, so that it becomes supportive and compassionate
towards ourselves?

In this course you will learn how to practice self-compassion on a day to day basis. You will get insight
into relating to yourself and your actions in a skillful way, so that becoming friends with yourself
contributes to the development of your positive qualities of wisdom and compassion. From
unconditionally loving yourselves, you can extend that love and compassion to others.

      • June 22th – June 28th
      • 5:00pm – 6:30pm (Indian Standard Time)
      • No classes Thursday.
      • We will be recording the live sessions and posting them for those of you that can not make it live.

About Tushita

Tushita is a centre for the study and practice of Buddhism from the Tibetan Mahayana tradition. We're located in Northern India, in the forested hills above the town of McLeod Ganj, Dharamsala - the seat in exile of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama.

Tushita aims to provide a friendly and conducive environment for people of all nationalities and backgrounds to learn about and put into practice the teachings of the Buddha. With this in mind we offer regular drop-in events and courses on introductory Buddhist philosophy and meditation, as well as intermediate level courses and group retreats for more experienced students.
