Transforming the Mind: The 7-Point Mind Training

April 3 – 11, 2024

9-Day Intermediate Course Led by Venerable Thubten Wangdu.

Genuine happiness comes from our own mental development. Through training the mind, we can transform any difficult circumstance into an opportunity to bring compassion, understanding and kindness into our lives.

The practice of mind-training (lojong) as it is taught in Tibetan Buddhism, enables us to overcome our greatest obstacle to happiness: self-centredness. The method to bring this about is to cultivate the two main wings of buddhist practice: wisdom and compassion. By developing the wisdom that sees the interdependent nature of all phenomena, we are able to give rise to love and compassion for all living beings, completely opening our heart.

By following Geshe Chekawa’s classic text, The 7-Point Mind Training, this course will present techniques to transform our problems into opportunities for spiritual growth and to learn practical methods for overcoming our disturbing emotions, making our minds a wellspring of joy and insight.

About Tushita

Tushita is a centre for the study and practice of Buddhism from the Tibetan Mahayana tradition. We're located in Northern India, in the forested hills above the town of McLeod Ganj, Dharamsala - the seat in exile of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama.

Tushita aims to provide a friendly and conducive environment for people of all nationalities and backgrounds to learn about and put into practice the teachings of the Buddha. With this in mind we offer regular drop-in events and courses on introductory Buddhist philosophy and meditation, as well as intermediate level courses and group retreats for more experienced students.
