Our dear friend and esteemed guest teacher Jetsunma Tenzin Palmo very graciously gave a public talk on the 4th of April 2014, entitled: “SHAMATHA & The Four Immeasurables”.
Whenever Jetsunma visits us we have a full house, and this teaching was no exception, with hundreds of attendees crammed inside our Main Gompa, and others sitting outside on the verandas and peeking in through the windows.
It was an AMAZING talk, so full of Jetsunma’s characteristically practical and grounded, yet deeply inspiring wisdom. You can read more about Jetsunma and Dongyu Gatsal Ling Nunnery on the website www.tenzinpalmo.com and her official facebook page is Jetsunma Tenzin Palmo (official).
We have uploaded the audio of this teaching here and you can see more photos from the event here.
As soon as we can, we’ll be uploading video of this event to our website, here (we have many logistical obstacles up here on the hill, please be patient with us!)
Jetsunma requested that Tushita follow this teaching with a session on the practice of Shamatha. So the day after this teaching, Tushita held a one-day Shamatha workshop, led by Glen Svensson. It became one of our most popular courses ever, with over 140 participants. Glen has put audio from this event on his own website, which you can find here.

About Tushita
Tushita is a centre for the study and practice of Buddhism from the Tibetan Mahayana tradition. We're located in Northern India, in the forested hills above the town of McLeod Ganj, Dharamsala - the seat in exile of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama.
Tushita aims to provide a friendly and conducive environment for people of all nationalities and backgrounds to learn about and put into practice the teachings of the Buddha. With this in mind we offer regular drop-in events and courses on introductory Buddhist philosophy and meditation, as well as intermediate level courses and group retreats for more experienced students.
