Happy Chökhor Düchen 2025!
July 2025
Warm greetings from Tushita &
wishing you all an auspicious Chökhor Düchen!
The Tibetan Buddhist festival day of Chökhor Düchen marks Shakyamuni Buddha’s first teaching, when the Buddha taught the Four Noble Truths in Sarnath, near Varanasi.
This day is one of the four great holy days of the Tibetan calendar and is considered to be very auspicious for practice. Karmic results of actions are multiplied one hundred million times, as quoted by Lama Zopa Rinpoche from the vinaya text Treasure of Quotations and Logic.
To celebrate this meritorious occasion we will have a special program in person at Tushita and live on zoom – you’re most welcome to join us!
We will have the following program at Tushita:

Precious opportunity to offer a light for your loved ones!
On this auspicious day we also present you & your loved ones with the unique opportunity to offer a butter lamp with your special dedication in this holy place!
Offering lights to holy objects is a very powerful method to illuminate the wisdom in our minds and to create causes for us to attain realizations. In Tushita, butter lamps can be offered on your behalf on wheel turning days with your special dedication. This offering is done in front of the altars in our Main Gompa in this holy place, Dharamsala (home in exile of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama).

Also, your ongoing support for our projects & items on our Amazon Wish list is much appreciated!
