Accumulate Merits at Tushita

Tushita celebrates Wheel Turning days four times in a year. We offer various merit making opportunities that anyone can be apart of. We are delighted to welcome you all to practice generosity and support Tushita by sponsoring any of the following offerings. And the nearest wheel turning day coming up is Saka Dawa Day.

Saka Dawa Day – June 5th, 2020

We are looking forward to celebrate Saka Dawa on June 5th, 2020 marking Buddha’s birth, enlightenment and passing into nirvana. On this day the karmic results of our virtuous activities are increased 100 million times, with this in mind we have some very special opportunities for you to accumulate the merit for success in your daily life as well as your Dharma practice.

Light Offerings:

Offering lights to holy objects is a very powerful method to illuminate the wisdom in our minds and to create causes for us to attain realizations. Butter lamps offered on your behalf on Saka Dawa Day with your special dedication can be made in this holy place in Dharamsala (home in exile of His Holiness the  XIV Dalai Lama) for just:

  1. $20 for a large butter-lamp
  2. $10 for a small butter lamp

Or make donations for any of the following projects:

    •       – Lama Yeshe Statue
    •       – Top floor of Vajrasattava Gompa – Three dimensional Heruka Mandala
    •       – Building new students accommodation block
    •       – Renovating student’s toilet and shower
    •       – Dharma wheel and Deers (2 sets)

About Tushita

Tushita is a centre for the study and practice of Buddhism from the Tibetan Mahayana tradition. We're located in Northern India, in the forested hills above the town of McLeod Ganj, Dharamsala - the seat in exile of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama.

Tushita aims to provide a friendly and conducive environment for people of all nationalities and backgrounds to learn about and put into practice the teachings of the Buddha. With this in mind we offer regular drop-in events and courses on introductory Buddhist philosophy and meditation, as well as intermediate level courses and group retreats for more experienced students.
