Venerable Drolma: Developing Our Unrealized Potential

Celebrate the New (Tibetan) Year with the Days of Miracles!

Developing Our Unrealized Potential

February 27, 2023 @ 7:00 pm (IST)
February 28, 2023 @ 7:00 pm (IST)

A two-day presentation on the amazing mind. The nature and characteristics of the mind are key to realizing our potential as Buddhas. We will explore these aspects and how they are best developed in our Dharma practice.

Teacher

Venerable Drolma

Venerable Tenzin Drolma has been Tushita’s cherished resident teacher since August 2016.

Born in Chicago, US, in 1961, she became a lifelong learner, receiving her undergraduate degree in religious studies, philosophy and psychology. She has graduate degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Denver and in Buddhist Studies from Maitripa College. For 25 years she worked in the mental health field.

Ven. Drolma was ordained as a nun in the Tibetan tradition in 2009. She moved to Vajrapani Institute and was resident sangha and assistant SPC for four years. While at Vajrapani Institute she taught courses and led meditations.

Ven. Drolma’s teaching style includes the psychological aspects of Buddhism and she has been described as a very approachable teacher. While strongly based in the tradition of the Gelukpa school, her teaching emphasizes those aspects most helpful to modern students.

About Tushita

Tushita is a centre for the study and practice of Buddhism from the Tibetan Mahayana tradition. We're located in Northern India, in the forested hills above the town of McLeod Ganj, Dharamsala - the seat in exile of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama.

Tushita aims to provide a friendly and conducive environment for people of all nationalities and backgrounds to learn about and put into practice the teachings of the Buddha. With this in mind we offer regular drop-in events and courses on introductory Buddhist philosophy and meditation, as well as intermediate level courses and group retreats for more experienced students.
