Dear Friends,
Lhabab Düchen on November 7 marks the last major merit-multiplying day in the Tibetan Buddhist Calendar of 2020, where the results of virtuous activities are increased 100 million times!
On this auspicious day we celebrate Shakyamuni Buddha’s descent from the God Realm of the Thirty-Three, after giving Dharma teachings for several months to the gods and his mother, Mayadevi.
We extend a warm welcome for you to join our special all-day online program of light offerings with the opportunity to offer your own butter lamp, pujas and review sessions of His Holiness’ teachings.
The absolute highlight will be a teaching by the precious Serkong Tsenshab Rinpoche on Repaying the Kindness of Our Guru.
Following on shortly thereafter will be our last 2 amazing online courses for this year – don’t miss these special opportunities.
2020 has been a truly exceptional year full of challenges and new developments.
The year opened with a residential intro course and Vajrayogini retreat for our hardy, cold resistant students. In March the ongoing lockdown started and since its very first day we have offered online programs continuously – travel free and within the comforts of your home.
With our new online programs, which were even featured by the Times of India and the BBC, we could reach even more people from India and around the world!
As per our yearly tradition, we crunched some numbers for some fun stats – not just for nerds…
In 25 online courses of mostly 1 – 4 weeks duration, to date, we have counted registrations of 3900 students from 87 countries. Rejoice! Many of these students have done several programs over the past 9 months, becoming a familiar face online and a close sangha.
With confidence, India claimed her number 1 position yet again, comprising almost half of the registrations. Followed as usual by Israel, US, UK and to our great surprise, newcomer Argentina, who beat Germany for 5th place, Australia, Canada, France and Brazil claiming 10th place with Mexico closely on her heels.
As for gender ratio, the females were clearly the trail blazers with over 2500 registrations.
With the hope to welcome you all in person again at some point next year, we are planning to use the ongoing lockdown for some long awaited repair work of our gompa floor and the renovation of our student dorm shower / toilet facilities.
Your support for any of our projects and items on our wish lists is much appreciated – as a small token of our gratitude, we are still offering our kind sponsors a free fundraiser course.
A big THANK YOU to everyone for your ongoing love & support, and we hope to see you soon online!
With warm greetings & gratitude from the holy hill,
the Tushita Team

Tushita aims to provide a friendly and conducive environment for people of all nationalities and backgrounds to learn about and put into practice the teachings of the Buddha.
